Performing Arts Awards Night
Congratulations to all performing arts students and staff on our 2nd Annual Performing Arts Awards Night. It was wonderful to have past students, Beth Condon and Hannah Brauer, as well as parent and former Silver Chair rocker Chris Joannou assist in presenting awards and I thank them for taking the time out of their busy schedules to support the school’s performing arts program.

Thank you to the organisers, the bar staff, the set up and pack up crew and everyone else involved. I wish to recognise the Friends of Performing Arts and all the work they do for the department.
As this newsletter is sent out our students from Years 7 to 10 will be competing in the Northern NSW Anglican Schools Cup, also known as The Bishop’s Cup. For the last couple of years, BDC has been successful and has retained the cup. Students will be involved in the following sports and activities: chess, golf, netball, rugby, football and volleyball. Schools from as far south as Taree, as far north as the Tweed and as far west as Armidale will be competing for this honour. A huge thank you to Prue Graham, our sports Administrator for organising this event and for all the coaches and managers of the respective teams. Go Bishop Druitt College!
Presentation Days
All parents are welcome to attend our Primary and Secondary Presentation Assemblies held in the Branson Centre. Please note that I will be an apology for the Secondary Presentation Assemblies as I am attending the Cambodia trip which departs on 9 December.
Primary Presentation Day is on Thursday 5 December, and there will be two assemblies as follows:
Secondary Presentation Day is on Friday 6 December and there will be two assemblies as follows:
Years 7 and 8 Presentation Assembly runs from 9.00am to 10.30am.
Years 9, 10 and 11 Presentation Assembly runs from 11am to 1pm.
Cambodia Free Dress Day fundraiser
This Friday 22 November is a student free dress day with a gold coin donation. Please encourage your students to be involved in this major fundraiser to support our partner school in Cambodia, as it is our 10th anniversary of our partnership with Kreu Yeung School.
Golf Day
Thank you to Bishop Druitt College and the wider Coffs community and sponsors for supporting our annual Golf Day. The Golf Day raises funds for the BDC Barracudas Sporting Club, which now has over 350 members across football, rugby and basketball. The funds raised allow our students that play in these competitions to have the appropriate resources.

Academic Scholarships for 2026 (Entry to Years 5-12)
Applications for 2026 Academic Scholarships for students entering Years 5-12 are now open and will close at midnight AEDST Sunday 2 February 2025. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of a competitive examination conducted by ACER, which will take place on Saturday 22 February 2025 at Bishop Druitt College.
Scholarships are open to current and prospective students.
Full or partial scholarships are awarded by the Principal.
Tickets are available if you would like to join a number of staff and Council members who have already indicated they are attending.
