Welcome back to Term 4. I hope everyone had an amazing holiday and looking forward to the final term for the year. This is a short, but intense term, with many performing arts events taking place for both Primary and Secondary students.
Year 12 Service
On the first Monday of term, the new Year 12 students met at St John’s Church for a service acknowledging their movement into their final year of schooling. Thank you to students Tim Hardman (10) and Adelaide Robinson (8) for their music at this event. Adelaide did a wonderful job leading the singing of all of the hymns at the service and this was accompanied by Tim on piano who also played music during communion.
Performing Arts Awards Evening
Our main focus this term is the Performing Arts Awards Evening which will be held on Thursday 14th November (Week 5) in the Branson Centre.
Tickets for tables have all sold out however you are able to purchase a ticket at the door ($5) to watch the event.
Students involved in Primary and Secondary Dance Academies, World Options Semester 1 Drama, Primary Performance Choir, Secondary Choir, BDC Orchestra, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble and Brass Ensemble will all be performing at this event.
A reminder that students are to wear their Performance Uniforms to this event (unless they are in an item that requires a costume). It is going to be a wonderful celebration of our Performing Arts students and we hope you can make it to celebrate the success of our students in the arts.
Shop Hop Tour
Our combined choirs (Primary Performance Choir and Secondary Choir) will be attending a Shop Hop Tour on Monday 18th November (Week 6).
Students will depart BDC at 9am and return at approximately 2:30pm. They will travel by bus and perform at Toormina Gardens (9:30am - 10am), Park Beach Plaza (11:30am - 12pm) and Coffs Central (1:30 - 2pm).
Parents and friends are welcome to attend any of the performances at these venues. Students are to wear their full school uniform and bring their school bag with their food and water bottle for the day. It is going to be a great day and thank you to Ms Caesar for organising.
