Bishop Druitt College Christmas Hamper Appeal

Monday, 18 Nov 2024

As Christmas draws nearer, we are once again requesting donations for our annual Christmas Hamper Appeal. This is an important way for Bishop Druitt College students, staff, and families to practise our college values of service, justice, inclusion, and generosity of spirit.

This appeal supports two very special local organisations - Warrina Domestic and Family Violence Specialist Services, and the Uniting Church Soup Kitchen. More information about each organisation is available on our Facebook page, where we have been posting videos from interviews our students conducted with representatives from Warrina and the Soupie.

We are asking for donations of Christmas gifts and non-perishable foods, to help share the joy and hope of Christmas with the people who need it most. Gifts can be for children and young people of any age, as well as for women impacted by family and domestic violence. Foods can include everyday staples, as well as special treats for celebrating Christmas. A full list of requested donations is below. We ask that any items donated please be new and unopened.

Donations can be brought to BDC any time between now and Thursday 5th December. Primary students can place items in the tubs in their classrooms, and tutor teachers will have bags available to collect donations from secondary students. We are asking each family to please donate as generously as you are able, knowing that this will look different for each family, depending on your own circumstances.

If you have any questions, please get in touch.
