The Woolgoolga community gathered to discuss the new BDC Northern Beaches school

Thursday, 10 Sep 2020

Recently, on Tuesday 1 September, Bishop Druitt College hosted four separate information sharing sessions where local Woolgoolga community members asked questions, shared ideas and viewed plans for the new BDC Northern Beaches campus. These sessions were held at the Bishop Druitt College pop-up shop at 42 Beach Street Woolgoolga.

There were many topics discussed from the look and feel of the new micro-school, the shared site with Ohana Early Learning, traffic flow, learning resources, playgrounds, green spaces and more.

New mums Sandeep and Simran said, 'We are so excited for our kids to go to the Northern Beaches campus as they will be local and part of the fantastic BDC community'.

Mayor Denise Knight said, 'This is a growth area and I think this new K-4 school is really good for Woolgoolga and good for BDC as well.

This was our opportunity to sit down with local community members and find out how Woolgoolga was feeling about the new campus. We also discussed ideas for the new school and met some excited new families who will be a part of the campus. We used this opportunity to update our education statement and answer some of the main questions the community had about the campus.’ Nick Johnstone, Principal at Bishop Druitt College.
