The Branson-Ackland Scholarship is available to new and current Bishop Druitt College students who wish to complete their HSC at Bishop Druitt College and who wish to pursue further studies in the fields of language arts or humanities.
Demonstrated high achievement in Year 9 and/or Year 10 English and History and a strong school report are prerequisites for this scholarship. It is expected that recipients will study English Advanced with one or more of the college's Human Society and its Environment or Languages courses.
The college wishes to thank Mr Victor Branson and his wife, Mrs Margaret Ackland, for their generosity in providing this scholarship. Mr Branson was the foundation principal at Bishop Druitt College.

A number of full and partial STEM Scholarships are available to new students who wish to complete their HSC at Bishop Druitt College and who wish to pursue further studies in a STEM-related field.
Demonstrated high achievement in Year 10 Mathematics and Science and a strong school report are prerequisites for this award. It is expected that recipients will study Mathematics Extension 1 and 2 in combination with one or more of the college’s science, engineering or technology-based subjects.
Students who would make a positive contribution to the BDC community and who wish to study STEM subjects at the highest level are encouraged to apply. This scholarship is aimed at students who wish to pursue future studies and a career in a STEM-related field.

A limited number of scholarships are available for new and current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students across the college for commencement from Kindergarten to Year 11. These scholarships are for students who wish to complete their education at Bishop Druitt College.
Candidates must be able to provide evidence of a good attitude to studies, have an excellent attendance record and must display a willingness to participate in the wider life of the college. Latest NAPLAN results and school reports will be considered.

A limited number of partial All-Rounder Scholarships are available to new or current Bishop Druitt College students from Year 5 to Year 12.
Applicants must have achieved to a very high level in their academic studies and in at least one co-curricular endeavour. As an indicative measure, students should have represented at state level or equivalent in their co-curricular field as a minimum. Latest NAPLAN results, supportive documentation and school reports will be considered.

A music curriculum vitae must be included with the application, including AMEB or similar examination achievements along with eisteddfod awards/certificates.

The applicant may also have interviews with the Principal and Head of Performing Arts or their delegate. School reports and letters of recommendation from current drama teachers will be important. Scholarship holders will be expected to take part in drama at HSC level.

A limited number of full and partial Sporting Performance Scholarships are available to new and current Bishop Druitt College students. We realise that expenses relating to students travelling to ongoing sporting representative events and training can be significant.
Bishop Druitt College offers a high performance program which will allow for alterations to subject timetables and greater access to our training facilities for those looking to concentrate on sporting careers.
Scholarships are awarded by the Principal in consultation with the Head of Secondary and the Sports Administrator. Sporting Scholarships are generally offered to students participating in the following sporting codes: basketball, netball, touch football, rugby union, rugby league, football (soccer), futsal, golf, equestrian, swimming, athletics, cross country, tennis, surf sports, triathlon or pentathlon.

While Bishop Druitt College may award a small number of scholarships based solely on merit, for the majority of scholarships preference is given to those applicants who would greatly benefit from a BDC education but who, without some financial assistance, would be unable to attend.
In addition, existing families impacted by altered employment conditions, altered family relationships or natural disasters have the ability to apply for short term fee concessions at the discretion of the Principal. The Principal has only a small discretionary fund to support these applications.
