'At the heart of our school is a commitment to develop the whole child.'
Thank you for considering Bishop Druitt College for the educational future of your child.
Bishop Druitt College enrols students who may gain benefit from the broad, balanced education offered by the college and who may contribute to the life of the college by participating as fully as possible in the range of co-curricular activities available.
Our prime entry points are Kindergarten, Year 5 (ensuring a place in Year 7), Year 7 and Year 11. Vacancies occasionally arise in all other year groups and these are offered to the next student on the waiting list.
Subject to availability, the offer of a place will be made according to a number of criteria at the discretion of the college.
The Principal and the College Council determine the number of places available in each year level, and these can vary from year to year.
Preference is given firstly to the children of staff and clergy, followed by siblings of current students. All other places are offered according to the date of application.
We recommend that you follow the steps to enrolment 12 months in advance of your child's commencement year.
'Our aim is to transform the lives of our students through the provision of an excellent education.'
Bishop Druitt College is a comprehensive co-educational K-12 school providing education underpinned by Christian values and operating within the policies of the NSW Education Standards Authority.
Characteristics of the Student Body
The school has 1020 students of whom 590 are in the secondary school and 430 are in the primary school. There are approximately equal numbers of boys and girls throughout the school. As BDC is a comprehensive school, the students come from a wide range of backgrounds, including language backgrounds other than English and a number of students with special needs.
Reflecting the demographic complexion of the local area, we have seen an increasing enrolment of both new arrival refugee and Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. Additionally, the school periodically enrols overseas students, either as exchange students or full-fee paying overseas students.
